Biofuels Business Incubator(BBI) formerly known and registered as Mapfura-Makhura Incubator (MMI) is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) established in 2006 by a consortium of organizations, which includes: Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), Agricultural Research Council (ARC), Limpopo Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (LDARD), National African Farmers Union (NAFU), Trade & Investment Limpopo (TIL), Centre for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), University of Limpopo (UL) and the University of Venda (UNIVEN). The incubator is mainly sponsored by the Seda Technology Programme (STP) and the LDARD. The target market for the incubator is emerging biofuels producers. Incubatees are capacitated with skills of oil seeds crop production, processing of edible vegetable oil & biofuels, as well as business skills to enhance the profitability of their business enterprises.
BBI is based at the Tompi Seleka College of Agriculture, which is about 35km from Marble Hall and around 3km from the flag Boshielo Dam. Although our offices are only in the Limpopo province, we support clients across all nine provinces of the country.

At SANEDI (South African National Energy and Development Institute), the Working for Energy (WfE) programme, in partnership with the Biofuels Business Incubator (BBI) – an incubator under the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) – aims to promote the development of the biodiesel industry and the concomitant skill development for the emerging economy.
